7.1.7 Generation of a localization transfer function file

・A localization transfer function file is a configuration file used in the LocalizeMUSIC module.
・This file is generated using HARKTOOL from the ImpulseResponse-ListFile or the TSP-ListFile,
and from the MICARY-LocationFile.

１．Start HARKTOOL (see 7.1.3 Start up), and click the button 「Select a file type for generation」
in Figure 7.18 to selection a file to be newly created.

２．When the Localization transfer function file generation window, as shown in Figure 7.19 is displayed,
input the setting items, and click 「OK」 on the bottom right.

Overview of setting items

Creation method
A measurement-based or a geometrically calculated method can be selected.
If actually measured, the measurement-based method should be selected.
If the geometrically calculated method is selected, the transfer function is generated in simulations.
Input Data Type
Impulse response or TSP response can be selected.
「Impulse response」 Select this option if obtaining the transfer function from a recorded impulse response.
「TSP response」 Select this option if obtaining the transfer function from a recorded TSP signal.
MICARY-LocationFile
Microphone location information file.
Specify the file generated in section
.
ImpulseResponse-ListFile / TSP-ListFile
Specify the file generated, either the impulse response list file in section
or the TSP response list file in section
.
Sampling Frequency [Hz]
Sampling frequency of the transfer function.
FFT Length [sample]
The number of bins in the discrete frequency expression of the transfer function.
Impulse Response Length [sample]
Specify the length of one recorded TSP signal or the impulse response length.
Direct Sound Length [sample]
The number of samples used to generate the transfer function.
Transfer Function Interval [degree]
Specify this interval if the geometrically calculated method is selected.

３．Verify the settings on the confirmation screen (see Figure 7.20).

４．Verify the results on the display of graph.
　　 The 「Format Name」 having 「Plot」 in the column 「Value」 can be displayed graphically.
　　 Double-click 「Format Name」 and verify the results on the graphic representation.
　　（see Figure 7.22 〜 Figure 7.24）

５．If there is no problem, save the generated files in Figure 7.20 using 「File」 $\to$ 「Save」）

・By double-clicking 「Transfer Function」, the setting screen, as shown in Figure 7.23, will be displayed.
・By setting items on the screen and clicking the 「Show Graph」 button on the bottom right,
the graph based on the settings will be displayed (e.g. see Figure 7.24).
・For each item, see Overview of setting items below.

Object of display

Choose one of the following three types of graph to be displayed
Transfer function.
IFF of Transfer function.
Difference of Transfer function.
X-axis Label

Choose the X-axis label from among the following labels.
The display range of the X-axis can be specified by Min and Max.
If every value is to be displayed, these items need not be specified.
Frequency Frequency
Num of Sources Number of sources
Num of Mics Number of microphones
Min Minimum value to be displayed on the X-axis
Max Maximum value to be displayed on the X-axis
Y-axis Label
Choose the Y-axis label from among the following labels.
The Display range of the Y-axis can be specified by Min and Max.
If every value is to be displayed, these items need not be specified.

Select the style of the graph to be displayed.
