7.1.5 Generation of the Impulse Response List File

・The impulse response list file is a text file showing the correspondence between impulse response recording files
and measurement locations.
・This file must be created according to the 5.3.1 Source position list information ( srcinf) format.
・The method of create this file using the template function of HARKTOOL is

Generation Process

１．Start HARKTOOL3 (see 7.1.3Start up), and click the「ImpulseResponse -ListFile」
button in the 「Select a file type for generation」window.

２． When the 「Editing of ImpulseResponse-ListFile」screen is displayed, as in the Figure 7.9,
click the「Generate Template」 button on the bottom-right corner.

３．When the 「Template generation for ImpulseResponse-ListFile」screen is displayed, as in the Figure 7.10,
input the parameters on the screen, and click the 「Generation Template」 button.
For each item, see Overview of setting items below.

Overview of setting items

Distance[m]

The horizontal distance between the speaker and the microphone. Elevation[degree]

The angle of elevation as seen from the microphone in the direction of the speaker. Angle[degree]

Ending angle (left), starting angle (right). The TSP signal is recorded in the file at every specified angle, from the starting to the ending angle, in a counterclockwise direction, (the interval between angles is specified in the next item). The filenames of these files are added to the template. Interval[degree]

The interval between angles Filename Template

The place/name of the impulse response recorded file (flt format). String “#DEGREE#” in the filename is replaced by the angle value (3 digits with 0 padding). Impulse Response Start Index [sample]

The starting position of the sample used to generate transfer functions. Default settings need not be changed. Impulse Response End Index [sample] (This item does not exist on the screen)

The ending position of the sample used to generate transfer functions. If this value is added, transfer functions are generated using the samples from the start to the end index. This item is optional, and is specified manually in the text file. This item is used to ignore reflections if, for example, a reflection is louder than the direct sound. To add the impulse response end index, specify manually “@end index” after the impulse response start index.
Example To create a transfer function using 1〜100 samples,
the start index is 「1」, and the end index is manually specified as 「@100」

４． The templates of ImpulseResponse-ListFile based on the parameters are displayed on the
「Editing of ImpulseResponse-ListFile」screen in Figure 7.11.
Click the 「Show Graph」 button on the bottom right,
and verify the parameter settings. (see Figure 7.12).

５． If there is no problem, save the generated files Figure 7.11「File」 $\to$ 「Save」
